Subject: Jerry was definitely at this show
Subject: Jerry was definitely at this show
Was my first East coast show in over 10 years and it was a doozy from the minute I heard "window pane" going up the stairs into the show. Of course, I took the window pane detour before going in but that didn't dull my perception of this extremely well played show with the typical appreciative New England audience. A lot of people took the window pane detour as you will hear in the Feel Like A Stranger crowd reaction as we did, indeed, feel like a stranger that very foggy night in Providence, RI. On a side note, bumped into Phil himself at Woolworth's that day shopping for undies. He was very friendly as me and a friend were the only ones who recognized him and didn't make too big a deal. Can't believe somebody doesn't recognize Jerry's playing in this show. Gotta be some unfortunate young Deadhead who never got to see Garcia live.

Yes, this is indeed a Further show. With Jerry on the mend, the boys enlisted Bob "dog" Trough, formally of the Huey Lewis Band, for several dates early fall. His tone was very similar to Garcia's.

Subject: FURTHUR IN 1987?
Subject: FURTHUR IN 1987?
Was this when Jerry was recovering from his coma or something or is it a very early incarnation of dark star orchestra?
Please clarify as I think in 1987 it would be just a conventional GD show
Whatever it is - its an effing awesome show
